Unfair organizers fees!

Hi All,
As you may have heard, Meetup has decided to charge a monthly fee to the organizers which is absurd. I cannot believe that The People at Meetup are even considering doing the monthy fee. I became a meetup member plus just to be able to have some more features like changing the meetup venue, then they changed that so you only had to be the organizer and not a meetup member plus to be able to change the venue. I paid money to also help out the whole Meetup idea and now it feels like they are being greedy. I am the organizer for at least 3 other groups and only one of those 3 has had two meetups out of many times I have gone and no one showed. They want me to organize and pay money and be paying monthly and have people not show up even when they said with a RSVP "yes" that they would be coming? And they expect that people in a group to pay the organizer? I am fairly sure that they are going to get a heap of organizers stepping down, me included. I am really dissapointed in the people at Meetup! If they need more money I cannot believe that to be the case, then they should have even more banners for advertisers. To place the financial burden on the organizers is absurd! Even just requiring membership is fair, but only a one time membership of 19.99 for a year. But monthly and for being the organizer that is absurd. It is like being penalized for being the organizer. I became the organizer of the groups that I did because the groups were doing nothing with members just sitting there waiting for someone else to become the organizer! So I became the organizer and now this is rediculous! I am already a member plus and they want more $$$!!!
For me to be the organizer for my 3 groups with a monthly fee of 19.99 for one year is $719.64!!!!!!!!!! I cannot see myself sitting around being the organizer paying for and waiting to see if someone is going to join my group, let alone show up for the meetup and pay me a fee. Which would be broken down between the group but if you even have a small group and that they do manage to show up, a fee is still absurd. Like I said they should just charge a flat member fee, then you only really get serious people interested in the groups instead of people that just join the groups and then do nothing more. Then those members become inactive members! With a one time fee once a year for everyone of say 19.99, you only get the seriuos people joining Meetup. And there should not be a charge for every group you join, just a one time member fee of 19.99 and be able to join as many groups as you like.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Now I think I will make a more friendly version and send it off to meetup officials. I hope you will all do the same.
